Registration Information for Hunter's Green Swimmers

1. Download, review our branch's team handbook and our Code of Conduct;

2. Fill out and return the registration and medical release forms;

3. Download and complete the 2008 USA Swimming/Florida Swimming Athlete Registration Form and give it to Coach Julia or Gary along with your birth certificate and check for $54 payable to TBAY;

4. Talk with the coaches to determine which practice group would be best for you:

Developmental
minimum age 5 years old. The emphasis in this group is on developing and strengthening freestyle and rotary breathing. We introduce the other 3 competitive strokes as well as the diving progression.

Pre-competitive
Main focus is on mastery of the 4 competitive strokes as well as legal turns, starts and finishes, with the goal of becoming 'meet ready'. Swimmers begin traditional training sets to increase their level of fitness in preparation for competition

Competitive
this is our advanced group for competition ready swimmers; ages from 7 to 18. Yardage is generally between 5000 and 8000, as well as dryland multiple times per week.

5. If switching teams, be sure to fill out a transfer form as well as #1-3. Please complete this form and send it directly to the FL Swimming office either via email or fax (352-242-5245).

Equipment Needed:

It is essential for each swimmer to have the right equipment in order to get the most out of practice. Every swimmer needs goggles and those with long hair need caps. Fins and a snorkel are essential for the competitive group and above. Pull Buoys are suggested for Age Group and above. It is important to stay hydrated throughout practice, so each swimmer MUST bring water or Gatorade to practice.
