Mission and Vision Statement
TBAY’S MISSION:

PURPOSE: Tampa Bay Aquatics (TBAY) exists to help swimmers become better athletes and better people through discipline, dedication, and determination.

HISTORY: TBAY was created to bring swimmers throughout the greater Tampa Bay area together to compete. We are a multi-level swim program for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. The team includes swimmers competing at national championships and swimmers just entering the sport.

COACHES: Our coaching staff is committed to swimming and to swimmers. We have branches at pools that span most of the Tampa / St. Pete / Clearwater area, so we can provide convenient practice locations and excellent training, all on one team.

POSITIVE ATMOSPHERE: It is our belief that success is a by-product of a positive environment and a positive self-image. The program is geared to help each athlete realize his/her potential by supporting their efforts in a positive manner; both in and beyond the confines of the pool. TBAY strives to instill an understanding of, and appreciation for, such concepts as high self-esteem, personal accountability, self-discipline, goal setting and goal achievement.

THE OLYMPIC SPIRIT: We know that not every swimmer will be an Olympian, but they can all learn, internalize and live the Olympic Ideals of vision, focus, persistence, commitment and discipline. These principles, more than any gold medal or national record, will help each child as they grow and enter the realms of higher education and society in general. We strongly feel that if you help nurture the child, you will help develop (or even unleash) the champion within as well.

LIFELONG SPORT: TBAY swimmers learn a lifelong sport; participate in an outstanding, successful team; appreciate the value of good health; and have fun!
TBAY’S VISION:
As TBAY evolves, the team will improve its performance in and out of the pool. Athletes will achieve and exceed their goals. They will become successful swimmers and successful young men and women. The team will grow and win at local, state, and national meets. The coaches will learn from each other and be recognized as among the best in their field for excellent performance, passion for our city, and dedication to the sport. The TBAY community will grow and thrive, and serve as an outstanding example of the benefits of organized sports.
