Matt Stumpf, Dartmouth College

Matt was a four year letter winner in both swimming and crew at Tampa Preparatory School in Florida, and he was captain of the swim team both junior and senior year. Sophomore through senior year, Matt was the 100 Breaststroke District Champion, as a sophomore and junior he was 100 Breaststroke Regional Champion, and as a senior Matt was both a 200 Medley Relay Regional Champion and a 200 Free Relay Regional Champion. Here at Dartmouth, Matt plans on studying Engineering. Matt is the son of John and Joann tumpf. He has two sisters and one brother. His brother, Ryan, is at the U.S. Naval Academy for swimming.


Carrie Foster, Florida International University

Prior to FIU: Was named Rookie of the Year her freshman season and was captain of her high school team ... Qualified for state all four years ... Won district/regional championships and was a state finalist ... Was a member of the National Honor Society for three years. Personal: Born January 19, 1990 ... Daughter of John and Linda Foster ... Has one sister, Natalie ... Her father John played college and minor league baseball ... Enjoys going to the beach, shopping, running and going to the gym ... Major is undecided.

 


Ryan Stumpf, Naval Academy

Academic Honors -- Was named to Navy's Commandant's List for both semesters of his freshman year. 2007-08 -- Set career-best times in the 100 back and in both sprint freestyle events at the Navy Invite. High School -- Graduated from the Tampa Preparatory School ... competed in both swimming and rowing ... in swimming, garnered all-county and team MVP honors during his junior and senior years ... the team won the `06 U.S. Junior National Championship ... helped lead the rowing team to the `05 state title.

Tommy Wyher, University of North Carolina

Career Best Times: 20.63 in the 50-yard freestyle; 45.37 in the 100-yard freestyle; 1:41.30 in the 200-yard freestyle; 48.12 in 100-yard backstroke (2nd in school history); 1:49.08 in 200-yard backstroke; 48.13 in the 100-yard butterfly. General: A returning ACC champion in the 100 back who also ranks No. 1 on UNC's preseason depth chart in the 100 fly at 48.13...was a prized recruit in the Class of 2007 who is an incredibly versatile swimmer...outstanding sprint freestyler...excels at both backstroke distances and is an excellent 100-yard butterfly. Freshman (2007-08)... Took home a second place and two (2) third place finishes in the 100 backstroke ... Had her best time in the event at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational with a time of 59.41 ... Posted six top five times in her main event--100 butterfly ... Posted a first place time of 59.09 against Florida International ... Recorded a season-best mark of 57.89 in a tri-match with Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast ... Had a second place time of 2:11.16 in the 200 backstroke against Vanderbilt ... Against Florida Atlantic, secured a third place finish in the 200 fly with a mark of 2:10.83 (season-best) ... Registered her best finish (second) against Houston with a time of 2:12.99 ... Helped the 200 freestyle relay team to a win against Vanderbilt (1:40.01), serving in the second leg of the event with a split-time of 25.07 ... Levi Curnutte, Coastal Carolina University

2008: Played in 11 games on the season, starting seven on defense... Took four shots on the year and two on net...

High School: Helped the Hurricanes to a district and regional championship along with a state runner-up finish during senior season... Served as team captain for two years... Totaled 19 goals and 31 career assists... Key member of the Class 5A state championship team during junior year... Also was a member of the swimming and track team...

Corey Swanson, Florida State University

Personal: Born June 30, 1988...majoring in business management and information systems...son of Chip and Kim Swanson. Was a two-time Massachusetts state high school champion in the 50 and 100 free as well as a two-time All-American...was a three-time junior national gold medalist, U.S. Open qualifier and currently holds multiple New England swimming records...best times include 1:51.3 in the 200 IM, 21.0 in the 50 free, 46.2 in the 100 free and 49.75 in the 100 fly.

Taylor Cooke, Florida Gulf Coast University

Personal: Daughter of Stan and Terri Cooke…Majoring in Physical Therapy…Favorite athlete is Kristen Sweetland…Favorite sports movie is Miracle…Career aspiration is to be a physical therapist or be a professional triathlete…Most thankful for her family…Chose FGCU because it’s close to home, in state, has a great swim team, and a beautiful campus.

Sophomore: Finished 61st at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships with a time of 21:17.32...Finished 9th at the Miami Greentree Invitational. Freshman: Taylor ranks in the top three among Top Ten Eagle Performers in multiple freestyle events: 100 (2nd), 200 (3rd), 500 (2nd), 1000 (2nd) & 1650 (2nd). Cooke’s best meet of the year was the 14th Annual Miami Invite where the Eagles finished fourth out of 14 teams. Taylor placed 23rd in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:55.26, posted a 5:02.23 for the 500-yard Freestyle, and also posted the second best time for any Eagle with a time of 17:26.54 in the 1650-yard Freestyle. Her 10:30.30 set an FGCU freshman record for the 1000-yard Freestyle. At the CCSA Championships Taylor earned 34 points for the team with three top 8 finishes to help the Eagles capture the conference runner-up title...Cooke was a valuable asset to the to the lady eagles during the 2007 season. She posted a 20:18.30 at the Gator Invitational and a 20:21.76 at the Walt Disney World Sports Invitational. She placed 23 overall at the Stetson Hatter Invitational and ran a personal best while finishing 6 at the Gulf Coast Stampede with a 19:45.71. She was also awarded A-Sun All Academic honors for the 2007 season.


Brad Morrison, Florida State University

Personal: Born November 10, 1990 hometown: Land O’ Lakes, Fla., Backstroke. Morrison was the 2008 Class 2A Florida High School State Champion in the 100 back and a Junior National qualifier.


Zachary Blustein, Washington University at St. Louis

Gracie Fredlake, Notre Dame

Personal: Born April 23, 1991; hometown: Tampa, Fla., Free/IM.

A Junior National qualifier and an All-American in the 200 individual medley. She finished 5th in this event and 3rd in the 500 free at the 2008 Florida High School State Championship. She visited Notre Dame, Northwestern and several other Division I schools before committing to the Fighting Irish. In 2009, Notre Dame won its second-straight BIG EAST Championship at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. It was also the Fighting Irish women's 13th-straight title.
