Board and Head Coach of the Dunedin
Branch: Besides being a Level 3 ASCA-certified
coach, Coach Scott holds a Masters degrees in Sports
Science from Ashland University (AU) in Ohio. At AU,
Scott became the first 4-year All-American to attend
the school; he was listed in the "Who's Who Among
College and University Students"; and, was the
Recipient of the Jasper Colebank Award "Schools Most
Valuable Athlete."
After a successful college career, Coach Scott
enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he earned the
rank of Captain and received a "Generals' Letter of
of Commendation" for taking part of a physical
fitness symposium at Parris Island Recruit Depot.
From 1986 to 1993, Scott was the head coach of the
Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams at his
alma mater in Ohio. Within a short period of just
one year, Scott reinstated AU's men's team and
built, from the ground up, the school's first-ever
women's team. As well as being selected as the
Penn-Ohio Conference's "Coach of the Year" during
his tenure at AU, Coach Scott was also elected Meet
Director for the 1993 NCAA Division II Swimming &
Diving Championships.
Coach Scott is married to Doreen, his wife of 19
years, and has a 7-year old son, Camden.
